Propeller.com, formerly Netscape, launched a new portal this week. The reaction hasn’t been so good though. I’ve always had an interest in Netscape. I designed the splash screen for their last browser and they’ve been very helpful to me in developing GoWEB’s browser extensions. I’d like to see them succeed in whatever they do, so here’s my opinion on what should be done with the new site.

This is how the new Propeller.com should look. It needs a little more life, zest and polish.

Notice the news stories are more visible in this layout and there are icons for stories like the old site.

Oh Yeah, the news items are fictional.

If your Windows XP computer seems to be moving a little sluggish, there are a number of small things you can do to help speed it up. Instead of buying new components, try these simple steps first.

1. Turn Off Your Desktop Icons.

Believe it or not, something as displaying icons on your desktop pulls system resources and you can feel the effects if you don’t have much resources to spare. You can turn on or off your desktop icons by right-clicking on any blank area of the desktop, opening the “Arrange Icons By” submenu and then clicking “Show Desktop Icons” to either check or uncheck it.
